About

Welcome to UtahGuns.Net. We hope all Utahns feel a sense of community and shared purpose here. It’s our goal to protect and promote the 2nd Amendment here in Utah and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to promote all of the positive aspects of gun ownership. We will highlight safety and education for all ages as well as show off new technologies.

You’re probably wondering why Utah needs its own online gun magazine and discussion forum. It is a valid observation. I’ll admit that I am a Utah transplant. I came to Utah from a state in which gun rights are being constantly eroded. Instead of looking at gun rights, established by our Creator as natural human rights, the government has taken it upon itself to limit the right to personal protection in every way.

My family relocated to Utah to escape from the nanny state mentality. Utah fit our values. It’s incredibly refreshing to find a place in which freedoms and Constitutional rights are protected. That being said, I saw the change in my original home state, specifically as gun rights were concerned. I know that grass roots efforts will protect our rights here. Grass roots efforts include political involvement, education, training, visibility and engagement in all communities. We often hear about “gun culture.” Too me, gun culture belongs to all of us. It crosses all boundaries, as firearms are the best tool for personal protection and a great source for recreation.

Thank you for joining and supporting our efforts to protect our rights in Utah. If you’re joining us from a neighboring state, welcome. We hope to provide a place for you to discuss ways to work together and help with your efforts to protect your gun rights. This isn’t intended to be an echo chamber full of people who always agree. All are welcome here, regardless of political affiliation, religion, sexual orientation or any other affiliation.

Most of all, UtahGuns is a place for fellowship. I hope to organize some meetups and shoots where our members can all get together IRL (in real life) and strengthen our shared enthusiasm for firearms. I have met hundreds of folks online, through other forums, and have had the pleasure of shooting, camping and enjoying shared interests. I hope we have the opportunity to do that here.
